Formed in 2002, Congo Square (www.congosq.org) is a non-profit society to promote jazz in India. Members ran jazz festivals in the 80’s with legends like Shakti, Clark Terry, Joe Williams, Mingus Dynasty. Congo Square has had 5 festivals since 2002 featuring European jazz greats like Jonas Hellborg, Bobo Stenson, Palle Danielsson, Karin Krog, Erik Truffaz and US legends like Kenny Garrett, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter. |
